Jerry S Brannen Shriner of the Year
Honoring leadership, dedication, and quiet service to Alee Shrine
The Potentate selects the Shriner of the Year β a distinction that reflects not only service, but character. This honor recognizes the Noble whose contributions, leadership, and conduct embody the spirit of Alee Temple.
There is no formula for receiving this award. In many years, recipients were nominated by their peers, Units, or Clubs β a fitting tribute to those who labor faithfully behind the scenes. These Nobles do not seek recognition or applause; they serve because they believe deeply in the organization and in the principles they embraced as Master Masons.
The Shriner of the Year award is named in honor of Solman βJerryβ Brannen. Noble Brannen was a two-time recipient and a multiple-time Dune Cat of the Year. He served as Chief Aide in 1990 under Illustrious Sir Billy Phillips and devoted many years to the Building and Grounds Committee. His leadership and dedication were instrumental in the construction of the JC Lewis Building and the Night in Old Savannah project, among many other efforts that strengthened Alee Temple.
Noble Brannen passed away in October 2009. His Lady, Lonnette, has graciously been present at many of the award presentations, continuing the spirit of devotion and fellowship that defined his legacy.
Congratulations to all present and past Jerry S. Brannen Shriner of the Year award recipients.
